House & Ground Rules
As we transition into summer, it is important to review and adhere to club policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Please take special note of the following guidelines:
ACCESS AND ETIQUETTE
- Check-In: Members must verify their identity upon entering the Club using their member number, ID or QR code. Everyone on the membership must have a photo ID on their member profile. Those who don’t have a photo will be asked to have a photo taken at check-in by a Member Services Concierge.
- Conduct: Members must behave respectfully toward fellow members, guests, and club employees at all times. The use of profanity, aggressive behavior, and disregard for club staff and policies are prohibited at all times.
- Child Supervision: Children must be supervised at all times. Those under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless registered in a youth fitness or club childcare program such as Kids Korner (ages 6 months-5 years) or our complimentary Kids Fun Zone (ages 6-12) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Event Lawn: Lacrosse, basketball, baseball, and throwing balls against the building are not permitted.
- Phone & Video Calls: Video calls and speaker phone calls are prohibited within the club except in designated or outdoor areas.
- Music Policy: Personal music devices are not permitted to be played on property. This includes the courts, event lawn, pool area, fitness center, Palomar or Hideaway Bar.
- Smoking: Prohibited in all interior and exterior areas of the Club.
- No Animals: Only registered service animals are allowed on the premises.
- Locker Rooms:
- Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult when using locker room facilities.
- Boys over 5 are not permitted in the ladies’ locker room, and girls over 5 are not permitted in the men’s locker room. Families are encouraged to use the family showers near the family pool.
GUEST & NANNY POLICY
- Guest Check-In: Guests must present a valid ID and complete a guest agreement upon each visit and declare the areas of the club they are here to use.
- Guest Accompaniment: Guests must always be accompanied by a member who is onsite during the guests’ visit.
- Guest Access & Fees: Required for use of pool, tennis, golf simulator, and fitness amenities. Guests may access the club for these reasons up to 10 times in 12 months. Child guests aged 0-3 will be permitted to enter free of charge. Guests aged 4-13 will be charged a $15 fee, and guests aged 14 and older will be charged a $30 fee per person. Grandparents will be charged $20 per visit.
- Dining Guests: No guest fee for guests only accessing the Main Dining Room, Hideaway, or a Club dining event.
- Nanny Pass: Nannies can accompany children with a valid pass ($275/year) but cannot use the tennis courts, pool, or gym. Extended family members cannot be assigned a nanny pass.
- Family Members: Non-members can accompany child members to swim and tennis lessons as guardians but cannot use club amenities and must leave after the lesson without incurring a guest fee.
- Dependent Guests: Dependents aged 14 to 16 may bring one guest when unaccompanied by an adult.
POOL
- Supervision: Parents or guardians must always accompany and supervise their children, whether a lifeguard is on duty or not.
- Resort Pool Access: Children under 16 are not permitted at the resort pool.
- Pool Toys: Water pistols, inflatable toys, balls, and similar items are not allowed.
- Swim Diaper Policy: Children under 4 y/o and those who are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper. If your child has an accident in the pool, a $250 cleaning/inconvenience fee will be applied to your member account, as the pool must be shocked, requiring all swimmers to exit. This results in displacement of other members and cancellation of Kswim lessons.
- Lap Swim Lane Reservations:
- Members can reserve leisure swim and lap lanes up to 3 days in advance on the member app.
- Cancelling less than 12-hours before scheduled lap reservation will incur a $30 cancellation fee.
- No-Shows: 15-minute grace period before are reservation is considered a no-show.
- Summer Pool Reservations:
- Reservations are required at the family pool during peak season (May-October) Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Throughout summer, weekend reservations for lounge chairs and day beds can be made up to 3 days in advance using the Member App.
- Two 4-hour slots are available
- Friday-Sunday (10:00 am to 2:00pm and 2:30 pm to 6:30pm).
- During the break between slots, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm, the pool area will be cleared and cleaned by our housekeeping, facilities, and Member Services teams.
- Wristbands will be provided to those with reservations to designate access to lounge chairs.
- Lounge chair priority will be given to those families or individuals with reservations.
- Those with a reservation for both timeslots and an all-day cabana booking will not be required to leave the pool but will need to check-in with the pool attendant to receive a new wristband for the second session.
- A 90-minute grace period will be given before a reservation is considered a no-show.
- If you cannot make your reservation, we ask that you cancel, so another family can have a chance to enjoy the pool. Abuse of reservations may result in loss of reservation privileges.
- There is a 2-towel limit per person. If you or a member of your party are found leaving the property with a club towel, your member account will be charged $40 per towel.
CLUB EVENTS & POOL PARTIES
- Reservations: Must be made with accurate guest and ticket information.
- Event Cancellations: Require at least 48 hours’ notice of cancellation, otherwise the member will be charged the full event price for the number of tickets on the reservation.
- Application to F+B Minimum: Club events are applied to the quarterly F&B minimum.
- Holiday Pool Events: The Club hosts Member Pool Parties Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. On these days, the pools will be open exclusively for event ticket holders. Cabanas at both pools will be available to rent for a holiday rental fee, in addition to the cost of the event tickets. Once the event concludes, the pools will reopen to all members.
FITNESS
- Age Restrictions: Children under 16 years old are not permitted in fitness areas. However, those aged 14-15 may utilize the gym after completing the Youth Certification course, taught by a GCLA trainer.
- Youth & Junior Strength & Conditioning Classes: To participate in class, members are required to reserve a spot through the Griffin Club Fitness app or website. The Junior classes are for ages 8-11 and the Youth classes are for ages 12-17.
- Guest Restrictions: Guests are welcome to access our fitness facilities; however, participation in Fitness Services such as group fitness classes, personal training, Pilates, Assisted Stretching, and Private Boxing is reserved for members only.
- Pilates Studios: The Pilates studios are exclusively reserved for scheduled appointments and are not open for general use. Access is granted only for sessions booked with a Pilates instructor or participation in a Pilates group reformer class.
- How to Participate in our Fitness Services:
- Group Fitness Class Reservations: To participate in class, members are required to reserve a spot through the Griffin Club Fitness app or website. A 12-hour cancellation policy is in place, and failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in a late cancellation. Upon accumulation of three late cancellations or no-shows your ability to book classes will be disabled for a period of 14 days.
- Personal Training & Private Pilates: If you’re interested in Personal Training or Private Pilates, please reach out to us via email at Fitness@griffinclubla.com or by phone at 310-570-5436 to discuss your inquiry.
- Group Fitness Classes, Pilates Group Reformer Classes, Assisted Stretching, Private Boxing, Youth and Junior Strength &Conditioning Classes: Members must book their session via the Griffin Club Fitness app or website.
- New Member Complimentary Personal Training and Private Pilates Session:
- A new member, defined within their initial 90 days of membership, is entitled to either a Private Pilates session or a Personal Training session, but not both. Please sign up for this session by booking through Griffin Club Fitness app or website. DINING
- Outside Food and Alcohol: Prohibited on Club grounds. Wine may be brought in with a $30/per bottle corkage fee.
- Adult Lounge: The new adult lounge, opening in June 2024, is for members & guests 18 years and over only.
- Palomar/Hideaway Bar Policies:
- All members and guests must wear shoes, shirts and dry clothes in Palomar.
- Those under 21 are not permitted to sit at the Palomar or Hideaway bars.
- After 5pm, the bar is reserved for diners only; please use the new Adult Lounge for co-working after 5pm.
- Conference calls are not permitted in Palomar; please move to the Palomar Terrace for calls.
RACQUET SPORTS
- Reservations: All members and guests must be listed on a reservation and check in with Member Services before using a court.
- Booking: Courts can be booked up to 72 hours in advance by Racquet members.
- Non-Racquet Member Limit: Limited to 10 court uses in 12 months with a $30 court fee unless enrolled in a clinic, lesson, or live ball.
- Pickleball Guest Fees: Starting January 1st, 2025, the fee for pickleball guests will be $20 per person, with a limit of 10 visits per guest in a 12-month period. All guests must complete the Guest Agreement Form upon entry and be accompanied by the member when playing. If you’d like to play with more than three guests, please contact Cari at Cari@griffinclubla.com to arrange a private event.
- Cancellations: Lessons, Live ball, and Court Reservations must be canceled 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Fees apply to all cancellations made within the 24 window, including reservations made within 24 hours of the start time. For Liveball, if you cancel with in 24 hours you are subject to a cancellation fee even if there is a waitlist.
RACQUET SPORTS POLICY
- Racquet Member Court Access: Racquet Members enjoy unlimited, unrestricted access to our courts. They can book courts for open play without any court fees, and they have this privilege up to 72 hours in advance via our app. Additionally, Racquet Members benefit from reduced rates and priority booking for our paid programs, including lessons, clinics, and live ball sessions.
- Athletic (Non-Racquet) Member Court Access: For Athletic Members, court access is more limited. They can use the courts up to 10 times in a 12-month period. However, they cannot book courts for open play on their own, nor can they take private or semi-private lessons or participate in Adult clinics. Their court access is primarily through Live Ball and Double’s Challenge Court (subject to non-racquet pricing) and open play with a Racquet. Athletic Member children may participate Junior Tennis clinics.
MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE, DOWNGRADE, AND RESIGNATION
- Initiation Fees: All initiation fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Dues: Cannot be paused or frozen.
- Upgrades: Members must pay the difference in initiation fees between categories or the difference in what they have already paid and the new category, whichever is less.
- Downgrades: Memberships can be down graded once every three years. Upgrading back to a previous category requires paying back dues or the difference in initiation fees, whichever is less.
- Hardship and Medical Downgrades: There are hardship/medical downgrade options available for use once in the life of a membership. Contact membership@griffinclubla.com for terms and conditions.
- Rejoining: Members rejoining the club must pay lesser of the back dues, the ne current initiation fee, or the difference in initiation fees already paid and the current initiation fee.
- Resignation: Requires 30 days’ written notice to be submitted to membership@griffinclubla.com.
