House & Ground Rules
It’s important for all members and guests to review and follow our club policies to help ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please take a moment to note the following guidelines:
ACCESS AND ETIQUETTE
- Check-In: Members must verify their identity upon entering the Club using their member number, ID, or QR code. Everyone on the membership must have a photo ID on their member profile. Those who do not have a photo will be asked to have a photo taken at check-in by a Member Services Concierge.
- Conduct: Members and guests are expected to treat fellow members, guests, and club employees with courtesy and respect at all times. Profanity, aggressive behavior, or disregard for club staff and policies are not permitted.
- Child Supervision: Children must be supervised at all times. Those 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless they are registered in a youth fitness or club childcare program, such as Kids Korner (ages 6 months-5 years) or our complimentary Kids Fun Zone (ages 6-12), on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Event Lawn: Lacrosse, basketball, baseball, and throwing balls against the building are not permitted.
- Phone & Video Calls: Video calls and speaker phone calls are prohibited within the club except in designated or outdoor areas.
- Music Policy: Personal music devices may not be played aloud anywhere on property. This includes the courts, event lawn, pool area, fitness center, Palomar, and the Hideaway Bar. All audio must be listened to through personal earbuds or headphones to ensure a comfortable environment for all members and guests.
- Smoking: Smoking and vaping are not permitted in any interior or exterior area of the Club.
- No Animals: Only registered service animals are allowed on the premises.
- Locker Rooms:
- Children 14 and under must be supervised by an adult when using locker room facilities.
- Boys over 4 are not permitted in the ladies’ locker room, and girls over 4 are not permitted in the men’s locker room.
- Families are encouraged to use the family showers near the family pool.
GUEST & NANNY POLICY
- Guest Check-In: Guests must present a valid ID and complete the guest agreement at each visit, including noting which areas of the Club they’ll be using. For added convenience, guests may also fill out the Guest Agreement Form ahead of time through the app.
- Guest Accompaniment: Guests must always be accompanied by a member who is on-site during the guests’ visit.
- Guest Access & Fees: Guest fees apply for use of the pool, tennis courts, golf simulator, and fitness amenities. Guests may use these amenities up to 10 times in a 12-month period.
- Ages 0-3: No Guest Fee
- Ages 4–13: $15 per visit
- Ages 14 and older: $30 per visit
- Grandparents: $20 per visit
- Dining Guests: There is no guest fee for guests who are only accessing the Palomar Main Dining Room, Hideaway, or a Club event.
- Nanny Pass: Nannies can accompany children with a valid nanny pass ($275 per year). They may not use the tennis courts, pool, or gym. Extended family members are not eligible for nanny passes.
- Family Members: Non-member family members may accompany child members to swim and tennis lessons as guardians. They may not use Club amenities and must depart after the lesson. No guest fee is charged in this case.
- Dependent Guests: Dependents aged 14 to 16 may bring one guest when unaccompanied by an adult.
POOL
- Supervision: Parents or guardians must always accompany and actively supervise their children in the pool areas, whether a lifeguard is on duty or not.
- Resort Pool Access: Children under 16 are not permitted at the Resort Pool.
- Pool Toys: Water pistols, inflatable toys, balls, and similar items are not allowed in the pools.
- Swim Diaper Policy: Children under 4 and any child who is not fully potty-trained must wear a swim diaper. If a child has an accident in the pool, a $250 cleaning/inconvenience fee will be charged to the member’s account. The pool must be shocked and temporarily closed, which displaces other members and may result in cancellation of Kswim lessons.
- Lap Swim Lane Reservations:
- Members may reserve leisure and lap lanes up to 3 days in advance through the Member App.
- Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the reservation will incur a $30 cancellation fee.
- No-Shows: There is a 15-minute grace period before a reservation is considered a no-show.
- Summer Pool Reservations:
- Reservations are required at the family pool during peak season (May-October) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Weekend reservations for lounge chairs and day beds may be made up to 3 days in advance through the Member App.
- Two 4-hour slots are available
- Friday-Sunday (10 am to 2 pm and 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm).
- From 2:00 pm–2:30 pm, the pool area will be cleared and cleaned by housekeeping, facilities, and Member Services.
- Wristbands will be issued to those with reservations to designate access to lounge chairs.
- Lounge chair priority will be given to those families or individuals with reservations.
- Members with reservations for both time slots and an all-day cabana booking may remain at the pool but must check in with the pool attendant to receive a new wristband for the second session.
- A 90-minute grace period will be given before a reservation is considered a no-show. If you are unable to make your reservation, please cancel so another family has the opportunity to enjoy the pool. Continued misuse of reservations may result in loss of reservation privileges.
- Towels:
- There is a two-towel limit per person. If you or any member of your party leaves the property with a Club towel, a $40 charge per towel will be applied to your member account.
CLUB EVENTS & POOL PARTIES
- Reservations: Event reservations must include accurate guest and ticket information.
- Event Cancellations: Cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be charged the full event price for all tickets on the reservation.
- Application to F+B Minimum: Club events apply toward the quarterly F&B minimum.
- Holiday Pool Events: On Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, the Club hosts Member Pool Parties. On these days, pool access is reserved exclusively for event ticket holders. Cabanas at both pools may be rented for a holiday rental fee, in addition to the event ticket cost. Once the event concludes, the pools reopen to all members.
FITNESS
- Age Restrictions: Children under 16 are not permitted in fitness areas. Members aged 14–15 may use the gym after completing the Youth Certification course taught by a GCLA trainer.
- Youth & Junior Strength & Conditioning Classes: Reservations are required for Youth and Junior Strength & Conditioning classes via the Griffin Club Fitness app or website.
- Junior classes: Ages 8–11
- Youth classes: Ages 12–17
- Guest Access: Guests may access the fitness facilities; however, Fitness Services such as group fitness classes, personal training, Pilates, assisted stretching, and private boxing are reserved for members only.
- Pilates Studios: The Pilates studios are available by appointment only. Access is limited to scheduled sessions with a Pilates instructor or participation in a scheduled Pilates group reformer class.
- How to Participate in our Fitness Amenities:
- Group Fitness Class Reservations: Members must reserve their spot for group fitness classes through the Griffin Club Fitness app or website. A 12-hour cancellation policy applies. Late cancellations and no-shows will be recorded, and after three instances, class booking privileges will be suspended for 14 days.

or call 310-570-5436. - Group Fitness Classes, Pilates Group Reformer Classes, Assisted Stretching, Private Boxing, Youth and Junior Strength & Conditioning Classes: All sessions must be booked through the Griffin Club Fitness app or website.
- New Member Complimentary Personal Training and Private Pilates Session:

DINING
- Outside Food and Alcohol: Outside food and alcohol are not permitted on Club grounds. Members may bring in wine for a $30 per bottle corkage fee.
- Adult Lounge: The Adult Lounge is reserved for members and guests ages 18 and older. Golf Simulator reservations can be made through the Member App or by calling Member Services at (310) 836-4400.
- Palomar/Hideaway Bar Policies:
- Shoes, shirts, and dry clothing are required in Palomar.
- Members and Guests under 21 may not sit at the Palomar or Hideaway bars.
- After 5 pm, the bar is reserved for diners only; members are encouraged to use the Adult Lounge for co-working after 5 pm.
- Conference calls are not permitted in Palomar; please step out to the Palomar Terrace for calls.
RACQUET SPORTS
- Reservations: All players, including guests, must be listed on a court reservation and check in with Member Services prior to using a court.
- Booking: Racquet Members may book courts up to 72 hours in advance.
- Non-Racquet Member Access: Athletic (non-racquet) members are allowed 10 court uses within a 12-month period, subject to a $30 court fee, unless enrolled in a clinic, lesson, or live ball program. Athletic Member children may participate in Junior Tennis clinics.
- Racquet Members Access: Racquet members enjoy unlimited court access with no court fees for open play. Courts can be booked up to 72 hours in advance via the app. Racquet Members also receive reduced rates and priority booking for paid programs such as lessons, clinics, and Live Ball.
- Pickleball Guest Fees: Pickleball guests are charged $20 per person, with a maximum of 10 visits per guest in a 12-month period. All guests must complete the Guest Agreement Form upon entry and be accompanied by the member when playing. To play with more than three guests, please contact Cari at Cari@griffinclubla.com
to arrange a private event. - Cancellations: Lessons, Live Ball, and court reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours before the start time. Cancellations made within 24 hours, including reservations booked less than 24 hours in advance, are subject to fees. For Live Ball, cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a fee even if there is a waitlist.
MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE, DOWNGRADE, AND RESIGNATION
- Dues: Cannot be paused or frozen.
- Upgrades: Members must pay the difference in initiation fees between categories or the difference in what they have already paid and the new category, whichever is less.
- Downgrades: Memberships can be downgraded once every three years. Upgrading back to a previous category requires paying back dues or the difference in initiation fees, whichever is less.
- Hardship and Medical Downgrades: There are hardship/medical downgrade options available for use once in the life of a membership. Contact membership@griffinclubla.com for terms and conditions.
- Rejoining: Members rejoining the club must pay the lesser of the back dues, the current initiation fee, or the difference in initiation fees already paid and the current initiation fee.
- Resignation: Requires 30 days’ written notice to be submitted to membership@griffinclubla.com.
